(CNN) — Gophers goofing round, a laughing snake and racoons seemingly sharing their secrets and techniques are among the many shortlisted images for the 2021 Comedy Wildlife Photo Awards.

The choice of 42 images make up the ultimate shortlist for the competitors, which acquired greater than 7,000 entries from world wide, in accordance with a press launch on Wednesday.

The awards had been based in 2015 by photographers Paul Joynson-Hicks and Tom Sullam, who wished to advertise wildlife conservation by way of humor, mentioned the press launch.
