MOUNT PROSPECT, ILL. — Mizkan America, Inc., a subsidiary of the Mizkan Group, has acquired barbecue and broth brand Born Simple. Terms of the transaction weren’t disclosed.
Launched in 2019, Born Simple was created to ship merchandise which can be “simpler to use” and keep away from “unnecessary extras,” stated Rob Johnson, founder and chief govt officer of the Boise, Idaho-based brand. It gives a variety of barbecue sauces and broth concentrates that includes brief ingredient lists and natural, non-GMO labels.
Available in brown sugar ginger, tamari chipotle, candy hickory and lemongrass mustard varieties, the barbecue sauces are made with natural apple cider vinegar, brown sugar and different pure substances. The broth concentrates are available hen and beef varieties in addition to vegan chicken-style and vegan beef-style varieties.
